Hannah Solar was the designer of a 223-kW solar photovoltaic array (solar panels) for UCB, a global biopharmaceutical company in Atlanta, Georgia. UCB was awarded the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification at the Gold level by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) for the renovation and construction of their Atlanta building. This rooftop system will offset approximately 20% of the building’s anticipated total annual energy usage, maximize the production given the available space on the roof, and produce on-site emission-free energy generation, an integral part of LEED scoring. This allows UCB to reduce consumption of electricity from the grid and reduce the demand charges associated with the peak use of energy. Hannah Solar Energy, Inc. performed all solar system, design, procurement, installation, and associated electrical connections working closely with Evergreen Construction and CRESA on the management of this project.
“The ongoing renewal of our U.S. headquarters reflects our commitment to sustainability while investing in the local economy and minimizing our environmental impact in the community. We are proud to be a part of the greater Atlanta community and help drive local growth and awareness in the healthcare community.” -UCB
